Areas northwest of Grand Bend, Cambridge, Newmarket and Renfrew are expected to get the brunt of the storm. Heavy and blowing snow is expected to amount to 15 to 25 centimetres of snow by Monday morning.
Three to six hours of freezing rain is predicted for eastern Ontario before the precipitation changes to rain and flurries later on.
Over the rest of southern Ontario, "a messy mix of wintery precipitation is expected" the warning says.
"This should give all regions at least a couple of (centimetres) by Monday morning."
Toronto's forecast for Sunday is snow mixed with rain, amounting to about five centimetres. In the afternoon, Torontonians should expect rain that will later change to snow.
The lowest temperature expected in the city is -8 C.
