Television drama is a terrible way to assess foreign policy.
Still, I find it suggestive that NCIS Los Angeles had Iranian agents operating freely (with weapons) in California looking for military intelligence to attack Alliance forces in Afghanistan. (As an aside, the Iranians wanted to kidnap an Intel Officer invalided out months before -- it appears the Iranians operate freely but use very dumb agents).
Ignoring the most obvious -- that the real problem in Afghanistan is Pakistani military intelligence run amok -- one might wonder if the placement of Iran as a covert agent behind the enemy in a shooting war is suggestive of possible military action against Iran directly?
