Isn't it odd that stores play Silent Night, Holy Night but then wish "Happy Holidays"?

Nothing odd about playing Christmas music at this time of year AND wishing everyone Happy Holidays no matter what they may be celebrating.

The annual obnoxious noise pollution and generic wishes in the guise of xmas are a frustrating, ugly offense against good taste. The incessant muzak of the season makes going into public spaces an excruciating ordeal. As for the salutation, I find the season neither merry nor happy and I'd be perfectly content if the celebrants of the misappropriated pagan festival kept their nonsense to themselves.
