Cabinet shuffle reflects campaign strategy

Adding two GTA Ministers (albeit one at the junior level) is clearly intended to strengthen Conservative influence in the GTA. It suggests the intended strategy is to focus on winning more seats in the GTA (and Ontario) while holding on as best as possible to existing seats elsewhere.

With success retaining the Quebec seats (unlikely I think but I suppose possible) that is the likely plan to achieve a majority.

Of course, the Environment portfolio is hardly an easy one and the plans could backfire -- but those are the plans.

First, I think Ignatieff is an idiot. Second, it's comments like this that prevent me from fully embracing the Conservatives

Peter Kent, "A lot of the questions are still unanswered, to be honest, although obviously there’s more evidence that climate change is a reality."

So I have no idea who I'll vote for in the next election but I wish it would happen sooner rather than later. Because 100% Ignatieff will lose and the you guys can finally pick a competent leader. Dion may not have been any better, but at least he was a likable guy!

Oh please backfire! I truly detest the conservatives.

Funny, because I'm a blue Liberal and truly detest Ignatieff. I don't like the Conservatives, but I think I'd rather have a Conservative minority than keep Ignatieff around any longer.

I traditionally vote Liberal, but if Ignatieff is leader in the next election I'll be voting NDP.

Environment minister in a Harper government is also a junior portfolio and the incumbent as popular as a skunk at a garden party.
