So did you get a chance to look at those columns about bad doctors not making very good expert witnesses. I wonder what you think about the "expert chill" threat that the CMPA tosses out whenever a doctor gets in trouble for bogus medicolegal "expert"testimony (eg. Smith in the crimianl context and the Worthman v AssessMed case in the civil context.) Do you think lawyers need to do a better job of checking and challenging opposing medicolegal experts? Don't you think it is a sad commentary on the system when the CMPA argues that if the bogus experts are held accountable and purged from the system - there might not be enough (medicolegal experts aka "grease") to lubricate the system thus allow it to keep grinding along? I've ask OTLA but their response is drop-dead silence. Why your affinity for polar bears? When I was a kid I lived in Churchill, Manitoba for a few years (back in the 50's) and they were everywhere. Then I lived up in Inuvik - not many up there.
