My last question - promise. Why did the Durham police charge Gregory Carter with obstruction but the OPP say it isn't feasible to charge Smith with obstruction? Both tainted cases with unqualified, partisan testimony. The uneven response by authorities isn't merely based on the desire to spare the Crown further embarrasment - is it?
