Conservatives call for release of leaked AG report into G8 spending

The auditor general was not immediately addressing reports on Monday that documents leaked from her office said the Conservative government misinformed Parliament and used potentially illegal processes to gain approval for a $50-million G8 infrastructure fund to support projects in a Conservative riding.

OTTAWA — The Conservatives are calling on Auditor General Sheila Fraser to publicly release the final version of her report into the Harper government's spending for last summer's G8 summit after a draft version — supposedly highly critical — was leaked to the media.

That won't happen.

Someone broke the law in releasing this document. It clearly should not have been released.

I have noticed that some Libs are implying the Conservatives broke the law without actually saying it.

I suspect they won't have the courage to do so.

Criticizing the whistle-blowing here on the part of the COnservatives is rich. They only like whistle-blowing when it is bad for their enemies. So ask your average Conservative if Daniel Ellsberg is a whistle-blower or an anti-democratic activists. Or Woodward and Bernstein.

Everything must be done to stop this Cabal because they are unbelievably dangerous to our future.

I hope that illegal funding includes another national Canoe museum just like the one Chretien put in Shawinigan. Canada really needs more canoe museums.

So you'd like King Steve to disobey the law this time?

The report should not be released and Iggy should hammer away at the fact that Conservatives are guilty of wasting so much money on the summits...
