Jack Layton's good idea about elder abuse

Yesterday Jack Layton said he would seek to amend the Criminal Code so that judges would have to consider vulnerability due to the age of the victim as an aggravating factor when sentencing someone convicted of abuse.

I agree.

We should amend section 718.2 of the Criminal Code so that so that elderly abuse would be an aggravating factor to be considered during sentencing.

As MP I will support efforts for such an amendment.

Agreed, it's an excellent idea.
