Truckers' Rally

A successful rally with truckers this afternoon. The main concern is the CLC requirement that truckers work at least 60 hours a week to qualify for overtime but there was a more general discussion of the falling standard of living for truckers. Media attended and we'll have another rally again next weekend.

Did you tell them the Liberal "Green Shift" is back?

No, because it isn't -- I did tell them that it's time to amend the CLC so as to put truckers on equal footing with other workers

All Morton wants from those "poor" truckers is all their hard earned money.

James Morton is a freeloader.

A Progressive "rat" who believe in "social justice".

he believes that "his friends" should be able to take people's money and give it to his friends and only his friends.

The people on welfare and disability or other handouts cannot thank Mr Morton for anything.

His rich friends can though.

Anon,

Obviously I disagree. Truckers are, often, business people like me trying to make a living in an increasingly hostile environment. Many fall into poverty because of the structural failings of society -- it's hard to make a living, a good living, with limited education and an upbringing in a chaotic home. In any event, I believe in the social safetynet. Rich friends or not so rich -- all sensible people see we are better off if everyone has a fair chance and a decent life.
