Welcome to the New World of Photoshop

Conservative Candidate for Vancouver South Wai Young photo-shopped a picture of her and Stephen Harper for a promotional calendar… by taking out the President of China!
According to Ms. Young’s campaign Facebook site the original photo was taken during a state dinner for Hu Jintao held in Ottawa on June 23, 2010.

Conservatives are making a bad habit of doctoring documents. Remember when Bev Oda inserted the “not”? Well this time, they removed Hu Jintao – the President of the most populous nation on earth.

I am surprised at you James. You never stooped this low until you became a Liberal candidate. The picture was taken at the same time. What's the big deal? Have Liberals ever distorted a pic or video for personal gain?

It's clearly photoshopped -- the relative heights are inconsistent.

Who cares? It's a calendar for pete's sake.

Like the other guy says, you are better than this. Move on to something important.

Considering that most women I know wouldn’t wish to be in the same room with Harper, let alone standing next to him, this doesn’t surprise me at all.

Brian....I have never heard of anyone who wants to stand next to him..not only women. He's starting to believe his own stories.

Looks like we lost the premier of China's vote.

I think it shows the Conservatives and their strength by having the liberals make such a big deal out of this picture. I think it would be a true controversy if the president was left in the picture - but the fact is they were cognizant of publication laws and didn't use President Hu's image on political promotional material. The greatness of all this is that thanks to the Liberals, you have brought this wonderful picture to light for everyone to see. We can see that Canadian and Chinese relations are stronger than ever. That being said, be careful Liberals - the Chinese government just might sue you for the misusage of their President's photo. And your fancy IP lawyers didn't tell you that one?

edit note: true controversy if the President was left in the picture OR if he was photoshopped into the picture.
