The lines between Pakistan's intelligence service and terrorism frequently blur, an admitted terrorist who claims to have worked on both sides told a U.S. courtroom on Monday.

Terrorist groups in Pakistan operate "under the umbrella of the ISI. … They co-ordinate with each other," David Headley testified at the trial of Canadian Tahawwur Rana, who is charged with conspiracy to provide material support for terrorism in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Mr. Headley described how he helped plot the massacre in which Pakistani gunmen killed more than 160 people in India's largest city.

I heard that al-Qai-da was sort of like a big database of mercenaries for hire - don't know if that's true.

Things are getting bad in Libya too, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13515308 , but Parliament doesn't meet for another week.
