Finally, the fact that judges and lawyers are implicated in Carter's fraud (if it is a fraud) up to their collective necks. Carter was only able get away with his shenanigans because the lawyers and judges never thought to ask - hey - if Carter is a psychological associate rather than a psychologist - maybe it would be a good idea to confirm with the CPO his qualifications (ie. absence of practice restrictions) to proffer expert opinions and'or make an unsupervised diagnosis. That would have been the end of it. That the lawyers and judges didn't bother to chek Carter out at his lisencing body doesn't make Carter innocent - rather it makes the lawyers negligent. Or can lawyers ignore what the LSUC has to say about their duty to check and challenge the qualifications of expert witnesses?
