"Judges must be free from political intervention or intimidation" Stockwell Day

This is a pretty ordinary sentiment but I picked it because Stockwell Day was often portrayed as a radical beyond radical.

In fact, Mr Day appreciated well the constitutional role (both privilege and responsibility) for jurists.

This matters because today much media is attacking a Newmarket judge. As I said here yesterday, we don't know the full story -- and there is no doubt a full story. Let's wait and see what it is before we 'rush to judgment'.

All Judges in Canada are appointed politically.

Progressive politicians appoint progressive friends to the bench.

What's so hard to understand?
