I had a sociology Prof. at York U. named Ion Davies. The course was Protest literature in the 1930's. " The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui." by Bertolt Brecht was on our reading list. Professor Ion Davies was a colourful teacher. I liked him allot. When he lectured on Brecht he would smoke cigars, (Brecht being a cigar smoker).
Early '80;s no one had a issue with smoking in the classroom.
