De duobus malis minus est semper eligendum

Between two evils, choose the lesser one (Cicero - De Officiis)

It's a pretty obvious point, although it sounds more profound in Latin. Still, often we overlook the good in the search for the perfect and in the result get the worst. Sometime compromise, or the devil we know, is a good thing. A bit like another comment of Cicero:

"If you aspire to the highest place, it is no disgrace to stop at the second, or even the third, place."

And sometimes the moneyed interests want you to believe that the only two options are the greater evil, controlled by them, or the lesser evil, also controlled by them. In practice, there seems to be little difference between Obama's policies and Bush's policies. Don't just passively choose lesser evil when you can work towards good.
