Shafia deliberations continue
It's always hard to read a jury but the fact they have taken this long suggests they are giving the defence a close consideration. My guess (prediction is too strong a word) is that we will not see straight convictions on first degree -- we will see second degree or perhaps even an acquittal for some of the accused.

It's a shame that the Crown's case is so dependent on ethnic stereotyping.
Even more of a shame that the actions seem to have followed the ethnic stereotypes.
we can only hope there are no liberals on the jury so justice can be done for the Shafia sisters and mom/aunt/domestic servant.
the liberals sacred cow of multiculturalism trumps the rights of females to live in safety in Canada.
Anon #3, I hope you are wrong. I remember listening to Frank Sinatra being asked "what are you" and he replied, unselfconsciously, "American". Canadian values accept multiculturalism within the framework of respect for human rights.
Guilty
Thank God that we have justice for the four beautiful woman.
I hope the outcome will send a message to those who are so afraid of offending a culture that they stay silent.
I am speaking about feminists who do not defend Muslim woman and social workers who fear being branded Islamophobes.
I am sorry to say James, but multiculturalism trumps human rights in Canada.
Bob Rae made a good statement, which is encouraging.
