Toronto Liberals Form Party’s First Queer Caucus

In late 2011, members of the Toronto Danforth Federal Liberal Association formed the Liberal Party's first Queer Caucus. The group, intended to connect LGBTQ and allied Liberals in the riding, began modestly. However, after two very successful friendraisers in December 2011, and expressions of interest from throughout the GTA, the group swiftly expanded to link up LGBTQ Liberals across Toronto.

"It's a really exciting time," says Queer Caucus President (Male) Brad Lister. "The Caucus is a great way to connect LGBTQ community members riding by riding to the Liberal Party, starting with us here in Toronto."

A committed group of Liberal volunteers is now ready to take part in organizing the Caucus and to lend a hand in the renewal and revival of the Liberal Party.

Queer Caucus President (Female) Penny Beames was impressed by the response of local volunteers. "It's been great! Folks are really excited to pitch in and make this new Caucus work."

The Caucus will reach out to the LGBTQ community in Toronto who are Liberal-leaning, lapsed Liberals, and current party members. The Caucus plans to engage with the LGBTQ community and allies for networking, discussion of queer issues and other policy, and efforts to grow and renew the Liberal Party of Canada.

A queer caucus?

What the fuck is wrong with Canada and the Marxists who run it.

Seriously, a queer caucus?

This country is a special interest, affirmative action joke.

No wonder anyone with ambition moves tot he USA.

So I'm assuming you're also upset with the special interest that the white middle aged male is seemingly entitled to in this country?

"Queer caucus president(male)"?
"Queer caucus president (female)"?

Is there a " Queer caucus president (two spirited)"? Why only Toronto?

This is a parody. No?

Oh dear. This is serious and I am glad of it -- everyone should get involved in politics and if they want, form their own groups to help focus their thinking. Kudos

Everyone should be involved in politics Ted, but does the practically insolvent LPC really need another faction? Another president, another board and yet another fiefdom...this is the cancer that is killing your party.
