No one seems to know who the mystery employee for robocall company RackNine really is

This is not all that surprising. People in the robocall business, or telemarketing, commonly use assumed names in business:

Who is Rick McKnight?

Postmedia News and the Ottawa Citizen are unable to find anyone who knows Rick McKnight, even though he has a healthy online identity, including 551 Facebook friends, many of them prominent. Rick McKnight’s profile picture — which appears to be produced by a program that simulates police sketches from photos — provides no clues to the man’s identity

A key employee of the company that was used to send out the misdirecting robocalls in Guelph on election day appears not to exist under the name he uses online.

RackNine, the Edmonton company that suspect “Pierre Poutine” used to send voters to the wrong polling locations, is operated by Edmonton businessman Matt Meier, with the help of Rick McKnight, who is identified variously as head of marketing and web developer.

It is doubtful that they would be anonymous - unless embroiled in some sort of conspiracy. Dialer merchants I dealt with in the past are all too willing to flash their business cards about.

What I'm curious about is Mr. Meier's angry-sounding "You don't" to media questions asking how to speak with Mr. Mystery, then quickly involving his lawyer.

There is definitely more than meets the eye here. Who is responsible, or how deep the rabbit hole goes, really depends on the RCMP investigations - but really require a public enquiry.

Look in the comments at The Galloping Beaver for links between McKnight and Conservative-aligned groups and individuals.

One link made is to Go Newclear Productions. There's info on Newclear's links to the ethical oil astroturf campaign (and the Conservative Party too) at Deep Climate.
