And his point is well taken -- conservative or liberal are just labels. What we all should do is focus on the issues and not the 'team colours'.

Sadly, focusing on the issues and not the team colours is not one of the 'modern Conservative' things to do. They have had success at exploiting tribalism to gain peoples' support while enacting policies that do those same people harm.
Seriously? Conservatives exploiting tribalism? Tamils anyone? Sikhs? Liberals ignored f******* terrorists in order to get votes from their communities and you accuse US of tribalism? Wow!
