Kingston Penitentiary opened in 1835 to close in budget cuts

Conservatives to shut facility in Ontario, CBC News has learned The federal government will close the maximum-security penitentiary in , Ont., that opened in 1835 and houses some of Canada's most notorious prisoners, CBC News has learned.

If BUILDING new prisons caused such a bellyache to Liberals and NDs, suring CLOSING one would get their collective hearts a fluttering. . . no?

Let's be honest, Kingston Pen should have been closed years ago -- just like the Don Jail. I wonder where the new jail will be placed? (whose Riding)

Obviously closed because the people of Kingston had the chutzpah to elect a Liberal MP. No doubt the jobs will be moving to ridings that had the good sense to elect Conservatives.
