There's an old fraud on lawyers that is coming back with emails.
A "client" contacts you and retains you to collect a debt. Oddly you collect it easily and get a "certified" cheque.
You then deposit the cheque and send the client the funds -- to learn several days later the "certified" cheque was a fake and you are left on the hook for sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars.
When done properly the client starts by calling you directly -- now it seems to be badly written emails (see below). Regardless, beware!!!
