Iqaluit residents warned about polar bear: Bear near Sylvia Grinnell River has so far eluded wildlife officers

I have never seen a bear there - it's an amazing place but it seems mighty close to the town for a bear. In any event, polar bears want as little to do with people as possible. And a bear would be hard to miss this time of year.

Local wildlife officers in Iqaluit have been looking for a polar bear that was apparently spotted near Sylvia Grinnell River.

People have been notifying the wildlife office of polar bear sightings but so far, officers haven't found the animal.
