''Jesus is fully Jewish, the apostles are Jewish, and one cannot doubt their attachment to the traditions of their forefathers."
Cardinal Martini was not "liberal"; he followed his conscience and was a scholar and an honorable man May he rest in peace.

Jesus was fully Jewish, and the golden rule is really a re-statement from the Old Testament, which was phrased in the negative, instead of the positive. The disciples were all Jewish, except for Luke, who was also a doctor.
Jesus reached out to the downtrodden, even those who were not Jewish. To borrow from Marshall McLuhan, "the medium was the message."
Were the prople that killed Jesus not JEWS?
Both the Old and New Testaments include prophecies of the death of Jesus. His mortal demise was pre-destined, so that he could have eternal life.
