Rob Ford's niece said something foolish about sexual assault. She made a mistake - that happens.
What's more interesting is why it happened - I suspect not because she is heartless or a prude - rather it happened because believing only women who dress in a revealing way are raped gives a sense of control - if I dress modestly I won't be raped so it's me controlling my own destiny.
Of course that view is wrong - it's akin magical thinking but it's understandable. In a sense it's quite a scary belief because it shows that even the niece of Toronto's Mayor is, deep down, afraid of being assaulted. And if she is afraid what does that say for everyone else?
