The fact is that public transit remains less convenient, more time-consuming and even more frustrating than driving. That takes some doing. We shouldn’t be surprised that so many turn up their noses at the TTC; it hasn’t been the Better Way for decades.

Perhaps government at any level in Canada could send a deligation to South Korea to learn how public transportation there is highly sucessful. SK has a population of 49 million and granted they are a much small country. However their know how is way, way ahead of North America. Here, it is still a matter fo selling gas to people who operate gas guzzlers. As well as a highly well run public transportation system, buses in Seoul will be fossel fuel free by 2016.
