Toronto isn't shamed by Rob Ford

The situation has become somewhat absurd. The revelations and reactions seem to suggest the Mayor is suffering from a breakdown of some sort - and that is hardly surprising seeing as what has happened in the last few weeks.

But none of this shames Toronto. The suggestion that business will avoid the city because of the Mayoral scandals is preposterous.

It is obvious that the Mayor's issues are an aberration and the reaction of the Council shows that. There is no suggestion that drug use is widely accepted in the corridors of power -- and that's why there is a scandal.

Some of the best entertainers in North America are finding Toronto an interesting place. Major comedic talent is focused on Rob Ford. The world is watching Toronto don't let us down. Laugh that man right out of office.

The suggestion that business will avoid the city because of the Mayoral scandals isn't just preposterous, it's absurd.

For the same reasons that business didn't grind to a halt with the election of Stephen Harper, no intelligent business person is going to shun Toronto because Harper's Hat-trick buddy Rob Ford plays true to form.

As a business owner, the kind of person Rob Ford is, and the kind of voters who still support him, are not the kind of people I would hire to work for me.
