Character is much easier kept than recovered. ~Thomas Paine

It is one thing to quit your job because you don’t agree with the boss. It is something quite different to quit your job rather than see the integrity of the people you lead compromised. There aren’t many of us who would do such a thing. But Munir Sheikh would, and did.

Right.

And while I've tyopuched on this Ignatieff quote before, I want to draw it out:

"There isn't a group in Canada who isn't concerned about what will happen if this government decides to fly blind. And that's what's going to happen," Ignatieff said.

This is characteristic of Ignatieff. He's not saying something directly. It's "people feel this" and "groups feel that." We never get to hear from Ignatieff about himself. It's evasive. It's not genuine.

I don't want Ignatieff to tell me what I think. I want him to tell me what *he* thinks.

That's worth 5 points in the polls, easy.

Interesting -- and a good point -- perhaps it comes by his history but often the way we speak doesnt reflect much more than that - our history -- but a very insightful point!
