Parliament comes back today in the midst of a flood of leaked information about the budget -- one wonders why they are even having a budget speech. The political scrambling, and the bizarre assertions that the Liberals were playing politics (after the 'Update' which ignored the economy and focused on political dirt), is unseemly but ... .
We don't need an election now and if the budget is acceptable it should be passed.
Now is the time to stop and consider the budget in an impartial and neutral way.

The sound of reason and considered thought. Good on you James.
However, I feel that a "poison-pill" will be introduced in the budget to force the Opposition into defeating the budget/government, hence forcing the GG to make a ruling.
Precisely what Harper wants!
very sensible point of view, indeed! Fingers crossed for the budget... the other parties should keep the pressure on the Cons to work collaboratively, but I agree that the budget should be passed if it's sound. Let's hope the Cons weren't just playing when they invited McCallum and Brison to the table.
