24 Canadian billionaires
The radio is crowing over Canada's billionaire total rising to 24. But is it good? Doesn't it reflect a growing gap between the super rich and the declining middle? Maybe it's necessary to have super rich for our economy to work but to my mind it's a necessary evil at best -- not something to be proud of.

We're supposed to think it's a good thing. The same way we're supposed to care about the stock markets.
Those billionaires have to get their money from somewhere though, don't they?
It indicates Canada is open for business.
Eventually, the accumulation of so much wealth will be seen as a form of psychosis, an anti-social coping mechanism that drives a person to amass far more than they could ever need, to the detriment of everyone else.
