ROCCO ROSSI CAMPAIGN HITS $1 MILLION MARK

Supporters put mayoral candidate at landmark $1 million fundraising level ahead of plan

TORONTO (June 18, 2010)— The Rocco Rossi mayoral campaign announced today that it is the first mayoral campaign in the 2010 Toronto election to publicly reach the $1 million mark in its fundraising.

"Over the years I have been involved in many political fundraisers, directly and indirectly, raising over $100,000,000. In every campaign, the amount of money raised was always a function of the leader's popularity and ability to win," said Rossi fundraising co-chair Jim Ginou.

"This campaign is no exception.
The public clearly sees Rocco as a winner and wants him to be Mayor. With over $1 million raised, we are off to an incredible start."

I've seen terrible candidates raise a shitload of money and go on to do terribly in the polls. I've seen great candidates raise average amounts of money and go on to do amazingly in the polls. What is very clear, despite the stupid spin of the Rossi campaign, is raising lots of money does not have anything to do with being a good candidate ... and I'm sorry they actually think that way.

Nonsense! People are supporting Rocco Rossi because they can see he is far more prudent than Smitherman and not as nutty as Ford. Frankly, he is just about the only choice.

Sure people are supporting him just not enough of them to put him in the top 2 or top3 or even top 4. He's not raising big bucks because he's popular but because he's a professional fund-raiser.

This coming from the man who decided to go kayaking last summer to raise money for the Liberals...
How did that work out for Iggy?

Is Rossi saying that Harper is better than Ignatieff because he can raise more money?! What an embarrassing claim from the Rossi campaign. Just because you can raise a lot of money doesn't make you a better candidate! Shame on Rossi!

Rossi's campaign didn't claim anything. Shame on you for accusing that your assumptions are correct. Every part of Rossi's past reflects the true leader he is. He has proven himself over years and years of dedicated work..with results to show. Please have a clue what you are commenting on before you jump to conclusions.
