I am a Canadian

"... free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind."

John Diefenbaker

Some of Diefenbaker's policies were, at least to my mind, wrongheaded (his foreign policy for starters) -- but he did stand for freedom of the individual and he tried, in vain, to establish a viable Bill of Rights.

Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Now, go and count your EAP signs.

As long as none of that fancy talk offends the human rights tribunals. God help anybody that befalls a state funded bureaucracy run by sanctimonious lawyers.

We don't have freedom of speech in Canada. If we did, there would be no such thing as a hate speech law used to harass religious and "nativists".

Instead of letting multiculturalism and pluralism win on it's own merits (such a society can actually occur on it's own over time), the left uses the force of law which creates resentment.
