The CPSO is currently seeking input re its policy position on third party medical assessments and expert testimony. In light of the Charles Smith debacle, I think the College should require all doctors who proffer expert opinions evidence to divulge all (otherwise confidential) CPSO censures (eg. cautions, etc.) to the court (during qualification). Dr. Smith had been "cautioned" by the College but he never divulged this fact to the courts. Had the CPSO required him to do so - maybe the judges would have been better able to give his "expert" opinions the weight they deserved? Any thoughts?
