I caught a portion of your recent CBC call-in segment on divorce/separation settlements. Given you are well versed in family law I thought you might be aware of the status of the Gregory Carter fraud trail. For a time it sputtered along - carefully confining the nature of Carter's alleged offence as having mislead laypersons about his qualifications. Then LaFontaine pointed out that Carter was "retained by lawyers and appointed by judges." The durhamnews article containing this quote (and ending saying "the trial continues) has been taken down from the internet. And for three weeks or more the silence has been deafening. What happened? Seems like the trial was cut short the instant it looked like it would turn into Charles Smith revisited - another unchecked, unchallenged "expert witness" allowed to run amok.
