In Canadian political news:

The proposed changes to the riding boundaries in Quebec manage to erase the names of Liberal prime ministers from the landscape: Laurier (Mtl) = gone; Louis Saint-Laurent (Qcity) = gone.

And there are a bunch of proposed Conservative names.

Astonishingly cynical, actually.

Cynical? This is part of Harper's revising history and/or destroying memory of the Liberal Party.

Ok, but aren't the boundaries set by an independent commission? You make it sound like the CPC is setting up the boundaries during a caucus meeting.

Mirabel should have been renamed Trudeau, not Dorval. We all know why it wasn't.

How about "Chretien Federal Prison"

Does it really make sense to name ridings after some Prime Ministers?
